Cortez Masto Statement on Latina Equal Pay Day

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Catherine Cortez Masto (D-Nev.) released the following statement in recognition of Latina Equal Pay Day:

“Latinas have to work 306 extra days to earn what their male colleagues make in a year – more days than any other female minority group. On Latina Equal Pay Day, we are reminded that as long as the wage gap exists, women face unfair barriers to success and have lesser chances of achieving economic security. As a Latina, it is my duty to use my seat at the table and work with my colleagues to ensure that women receive equal pay for equal work. It is unacceptable that unfair practices still persist in the workplace and it is past time we close the wage gap.”
