Cortez Masto Statement on Budget Agreement to Fund Government Through September

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Catherine Cortez Masto (D-Nev.) released the following statement on the spending package approved by the Senate earlier today:

“While the budget I voted for today is not perfect, it is the product of extensive bi-partisan cooperation, and it represents a rejection of President Trump’s efforts to gut our nation’s most important federal programs. I am particularly happy that the budget will continue to support our state’s military bases and increase funding for grants awarded by the Office of Violence Against Women to the highest level in history. Moreover, it contains no funding for a useless wall along our southern border or the ill-conceived nuclear repository in Nevada. I will continue to work with my colleagues to protect important federal programs that allow hardworking families to live with the dignity they deserve.”
