Cortez Masto, Rosen Applaud Over $5 Million in Grants for Housing, Community Development in Nevada

Las Vegas, Nev. – U.S. Senators Catherine Cortez Masto (D-Nev.) and Jacky Rosen (D-Nev.) announced $5,782,701 for Northern and Southern Nevada from the Office of Community Planning and Development (CPD) at the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The funds will go to develop communities, build affordable housing, reduce homelessness and help Nevadans regain stability after experiencing homelessness, and expand economic opportunities.

“We welcome these funds to help communities in Nevada cope with one of the worst housing shortages in the nation. When people have safe places to sleep at night, their lives improve enormously, and they are able to contribute more fully to building and improving vibrant neighborhoods. We will keep working in the Senate to ensure that all Nevadans have the resources they need to thrive.”

This package of grants is funded through various programs under the umbrella of HUD, including the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program, the Emergency Solutions Grants (ESG) program, and the HOME Investment Partnerships (HOME) program.
