Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Catherine Cortez Masto (D-Nev.) released the following statement after her trip to the United Kingdom, Israel, Jordan, and Greece as part of a bipartisan Senate delegation from Saturday, February 17 to Sunday, February 25, led by Senator Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.). In addition to Cortez Masto and Graham, the delegation included U.S. Senators Chris Coons (D-Del.), Jeff Flake (R-Ariz.), Bill Cassidy (R-La.), Cory Gardner (R-Colo.) and Maggie Hassan (D-N.H.).
“It was an honor to join my fellow senators in Europe and the Middle East to hear directly from heads of state and government officials on how we can strengthen our relationship with some of our closest allies,” said Cortez Masto. “These relationships are vital to our national security, as we work toward countering terrorism, promoting democratic values, and ensuring safety for all Americans at home and abroad.”
Cortez Masto met with heads of state and senior government officials including British Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson, British National Security Adviser Mark Sedwill, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Israeli Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman, King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein and Queen Rania Al-Abdullah of Jordan, and Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras.
