Las Vegas, Nev. – U.S. Senator Catherine Cortez Masto (D-Nev.) applauded the Department of Health and Human Services’ (HHS) announcement of two grants aimed at keeping Nevadans healthy. HHS is awarding the Nevada Department of Health and Human Services a $1,158,632 grant to help combat prescription drug abuse and overdoses and another $1,690,222 for improving diabetes, heart disease and stroke prevention programs in the State of Nevada.
“I commend the Department of Health and Human Services for its commitment to bettering the lives of Nevadans by investing in their health. These grants will make a difference on the ground, where they will help fund and develop treatment and prevention plans for those overcoming addiction, struggling with diabetes or heart disease, or recovering from the effects of a stroke. I will continue to work in the Senate to secure critical investments that help keep Nevadans healthy.”
