Dayton, Nev. – U.S. Senator Catherine Cortez Masto (D-Nev.) today joined Chicanos Por La Causa for the grand opening of ten newly constructed homes as part of a 200-unit affordable workforce housing development location in Dayton. The Senator also presented keys to new homeowners as part of a ceremony at the event. These new affordable workforce housing units include townhouses, senior housing and multi-family housing units.

“Today is such a special day because it marks something so important to the families I met in Dayton today – these new homes mean security. And for Nevada, they represent another step toward addressing our communities’ affordable housing crisis. Nevada has one of the most severe affordable housing shortages in the nation and as we welcome these families into their new home, we also stand together for a future Nevada where every hardworking family can find affordable housing and the security that comes with having a home. I’m so grateful for advocates like Chicanos Por La Causa, who are so dedicated to this fight for affordable housing projects that empower communities across Nevada.”
