Cortez Masto Statement on Labor Day

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Catherine Cortez Masto (D-Nev.) released the following statement in honor of Labor Day, which falls on Monday, September 3rd:

“On Labor Day, we honor the contributions of American workers who fought for better protections, a safer workplace, and a more prosperous economy. Today, our fight continues to make our workplaces more equitable: to end workplace discrimination, to increase wages so that hardworking Americans can lift themselves into the middle class, for women to get equal pay for equal work, and for Nevada’s unions to remain strong. Unions have been a powerful voice for Nevada’s workers. We must rededicate ourselves to protecting the rights of workers to collectively bargain for the benefits they’ve earned and to fight against the widening economic inequality that has hampered the ability of hardworking families to achieve the American dream.”
