Cortez Masto Celebrates Nevada’s Olympians

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Catherine Cortez Masto (D-Nev.) today issued the following statement celebrating Nevada athletes as they participate in the 2018 Winter Olympic Games in Pyeongchang, South Korea.

“Congratulations to our outstanding Olympians: David Wise, Evan Weinstock and Tim Jitloff, who will be competing for gold in Pyeongchang. Reno local David Wise, the 2014 Olympic Gold Medalist in halfpipe skiing, will once again look to show the world that the best skiers are born in Nevada. Evan Weinstok of Las Vegas and Tim Jitloff of Reno will represent our state proudly as first time Olympians in bobsled and alpine skiing, respectively. Their hard work and dedication as athletes are a testament to the spirit of the Olympic Games and stand as an example to every one of us in the Silver State. I’m excited to cheer for Team USA, and I am even more thrilled to be cheering for my fellow Nevadans in Pyeongchang.”
